Calling all equine photographers! We plan to meet again in the stunning Carolina Foothills for a workshop that celebrates the beauty and energy of this horse rich area of the country. Led by seasoned equine photographers Scott Trees, Carien Schippers and Sharon Packer, this experience offers a unique blend of classroom learning and hands on practice at some of the area's most picturesque equestrian facilities, arenas and trails. Elevate your photography with real world sessions with dressage and sport horses in action as well as a rich assortment of equine and equestrian models and disciplines, lifestyle portraiture and maybe even a few special surprises! We will explore how to use light in all situations from low indoor light to harsh direct daylight. You'll master black background photography created in camera and craft striking silhouettes. Learn how to prepare and pose humans with their horses (and maybe a dog or two) for beautiful, natural portraits. We will cover the ins and outs of planning and executing successful farm shoots, pointers on good conformation photos and headshots and how to nail correct action every time. Plus, we will tackle business topics such as marketing, book keeping, workflow, what it takes to be an event photographer, review images and much more. This will be a wide ranging workshop for anyone wishing to work on their technical skills in the field with six photo shoots and three class sessions starting mid-day on Thursday, November 5th and ending after the morning shoot on Sunday, November 11th. You won't want to miss a minute, our schedule will be jam packed with great learning and photo ops! You will meet fellow equine photographers and horse lovers, learn and photograph together at some special locations and be able to build your portfolio too! We hope you will join us for the fun. Our home base, lodging and meeting room will be at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, NC. Rooms are $154 plus tax at the Overmountain Lodge.
